Trio 7
SARAH BLAIR began playing Irish fiddle in Providence, Rhode Island's thriving
traditional Irish music scene. She honed her playing as a sought-after session
leader in Boston and in the world of American contra dancing. With her band The
Sevens and with other ensembles, Sarah has played at festivals, concerts, and
dance weeks from Alaska to Quebec to Florida. She is included in Handy with the
Stick: Fiddler Magazine's Best of Irish fiddling.
FLYNN COHEN is a guitarist and singer who has performed with many notable acts
in traditional and contemporary acoustic music, including Annalivia, John
Whelan, HALALI, Footworks, Jake Armerding, and Adrienne Young. He has also
taught classes in music history, theory and performance at Bridgewater State
College in Massachusetts and Keene State College in New Hampshire.
MARK ROBERTS plays the flute, tin whistle, 5-string banjo and bouzouki and has
had a long and varied career in music. He toured and recorded with the seminal
band Touchstone, played the banjo with the Red Clay Ramblers on Broadway in the
show Fool Moon, his flute and pennywhistle can be heard in the Jon Salyes film
The Secret of Roan Innish, and he’s brought his whistle on tour with Don Henley.
Building on their success with the Sevens these three exciting musicians have joined together to form TRIO 7, performing Irish and American traditional music in clubs, house concerts and festivals.
